The early part of my 1-on-1 Coaching Program is the analysis of how YOU will fare emotionally in business. Since you are your own employee, it’s sort of like conducting an interview, except it’s with you. The focus is to find out if you’re in the right place to go out on your own based on looking at 6 core areas of business / self overlap.

Because of the massive results my clients got in Phase One, I thought it would be a cool idea to offer this to anyone who is considering self-employment and who wants to know what they’ll be up against before they invest too much of their time, energy or money.

After this phase of coaching, my clients have such clarity and relief about their next steps. They end up knowing in good detail how it will feel to live the life of an entrepreneur and it makes planning for the leap a million times easier.

Here is just some of the clarity my clients found, and the actions they were able to take because of this insight–

  • Moving to part-time at her existing position was better for her than immediately leaving, and her boss fully supports her in this new position.

  • Her pervasive thought, “they’ll think I’m too much” was standing in the way of so much confident and thoughtful communication and when we coached her through it she was able to easily reach out to a photographer and create a valuable partnership.

  • She was stalled for weeks (and really emotionally exhausted from the confusion) about hiring out a website and social build or doing it herself. She knew her skills weren’t up to her standard, but she didn’t have the money to spend. Once we coached her through her thoughts, it was a super easy decision for her to build a phase one website and social build with confidence and she ended up knocking it out in a few days with ease.

What we can learn from this is that indecision stands in the way of forward progress and we need forward progress to meet our financial needs in business. What stops us from taking action? The thoughts and emotions we are unaware we have. Frustrating right??

If we aren’t aware of our business thoughts ahead of time we will be blindsided, stalled and sidetracked by our emotions, self-identity and traumas / formative negative experiences. What has happened to us in the past will shape the future success of our business, even if we don’t think it has anything to do with business. Whatever stands in the way of your clear, confident aligned action will limit your financial potential.

It’s good to know your personal map ahead of time so that you can set your business plan up to support your human self, and your financial goals.

People talk about how you can prepare for business by saving up money, and that is a great idea. But, by far, the best preparation is being truly aware of how you as a human will react to the daily, normal business circumstances related to your specific goals in the world.

You can run a business with less anxiety, but it might not interest you (or your customers) enough to make any money.

You can run a business exactly like others, if it feels safer to do that, however the market will respond to it in that way, which might not serve your financial goals.
